|I have the pleasure of working with professional makeup artist Jayne Hestelton and leading photographer Malcolm Birkett in our collaboration Image Academy.Image Academy has brought together the most creative and professional talent in the makeover business, and we have worked our magic on many clients over the past months, both in the studio and on location.
Recent visitors to the studio were Holly and Karis, finalists from the TV hit series Colleens Real Women that is on our screens on ITV 2 at the moment.
The girls had been picked from hundreds of hopeful beauties that had gathered at the Liverpool casting to test for a contract with major cosmetics brand Benefit, and a chance to appear in Glamour magazine.
Their styling day with Colleen and her team sounded amazing, and included a trip to Rigby and Peller in London, and a photo shoot on location at the Victoria Baths in Manchester.
Not to be outdone by our TV counterparts, Image Academy set to work to transform the girls and give them another day to remember.
On the TV show Holly commented that she had never had a professional photo shoot, “I’ve only ever posed for pictures at birthday parties and Christmas” but you would never have guessed, as she seemed an absolute natural in front of Malcolms’s lens.
And as for Karis, her TV comments “believe it or not I don’t think I’m photogenic” could not have been farther from the truth, to say she looks stunning is a complete understatement.
For the styling that day we chose a Burlesque theme, and a more contemporary Rock Chick look, which gave our makeup artist Jayne a perfect opportunity to show off her talents, and, as usual she didn’t let the team down.
Kiku boutique in Manchester supplied the most amazing corsets and accessories and no self-respecting stylist would be without vertiginous heels, which came from our friends at the gorgeous shoe shop Zapatos in Knutsford.
Everyone on the shoot had a fantastic day, and I think the pictures are amazing, but don’t take my word for it, have a look yourself.
