Welcome to my new website, it has been a labour of love, and, I would like to say a huge big Thank You to the lovely Sarah and all her hard working team at www.skilmarketing.co.uk who helped turn my thoughts and ideas into reality! I can’t wait to get back to a bit of blogging and start sharing some fashiony bits and pieces with you once again. So, Autumn and Winter 2011, what a great time to start my new blog. Over the next few weeks, I will be talking about the key pieces for the new season, and, hopefully, a few of these lovely things will find their way into your wardrobe. My first recommendation is The Gilet. I must admit, I have never given great consideration to the gilet, maybe it’s because I have always thought of it in the sporting context of hunting, shooting and fishing….all quilted and tweedy. However, for this season prepare to be amazed, the gilet has had a fun and furry overhaul and, I am am looking at it in a completely different light. The choice of fabrics and styles is fantastic… there are cuddly ones, furry ones, bright and colourful ones, short, long, belted, loose, the list goes on… The new season Gilet is a thoroughly modern piece, and can be worn with numerous combinations. Try wearing it over dresses, jumpers, blouses and T shirts. Mix and match it with skirts, trousers and shorts…with heels, wedges and boots of all shapes and lengths. Dressed up or down, it will be such a useful little item that you will be left wondering what on earth you wore before you bought it!! My only word of advice to you would be to pay attention to your fabric combinations. Certain materials can appear to add on the pounds, so, if you don’t want to look too bulky, try streamlining your outfits by layering with lighter and finer fabrics.
