Things I Love

I often stumble across great little sites whilst browsing the web doing my research for the next personal shopping trip. And I often find little treasure troves out and about on my travels, so I thought it would be a nice idea to start writing about some of my discoveries and I have decided to call it THINGS I LOVE.

I thought I would start by telling you all about a great website called etsy, which specializes in buying and selling hand made goods from around the world. There are so many beautiful things to buy it is difficult to know where to start looking. It is on this site that I happened across a little gem called Bonzie an aunt and niece design duo from Ireland.

I love everything the girls have on offer, all hand made with a vintage touch, and something they describe as “Tattered Couture”. Satin, velvet, beading, tulle all lovingly sewn into a gorgeous array of wares. I particularly loved the ruffled scarves, but my favourite pieces were the corsages. I couldn’t resist!!!

I bought a pretty cream corsage, in organza and Hessian with a beaded pearl centre. I thought it looked very Chanel and it will be a perfect adornment for my little black dresses. When my package arrived in the post, it was so beautifully wrapped it seemed a shame to open it!! The gift paper was an old sewing pattern tied with string. There was an ornamental key and lock tag, and to finish off the package, a sweet calico printed label and a hand written thank you note. Such attention to detail warms my heart and I was completely won over.

So to Bonzie and Ger you have a new fan! And, I have to say that I love the pictures of your work shop and I was wondering if you could fit another table in there, so I could relocate to Ireland???
