Black Lace

On my recent shopping trips I have been noticing some lovely black lace pieces.

The great thing about lace is that it is a very versatile fabric. Cream and pale coloured laces look amazing in softer feminine styles and are more predominant in summer fashions; black lace however is a completely different story. Black lace is glamorous and sexy. It lends itself beautifully for full on evening glamour, but it can be worn just as easily during the day, giving a gothic edge to any outfit.

A black lace dress would be a very useful and versatile addition to your wardrobe, and could be worn day or night. However, maybe for starters you could look for items such as jackets, blouses or skirts with a lace trim, and if your budget won’t stretch that far, try customizing your own pieces with a touch of black lace, and create a great look for little expense.

If those ideas don’t take your fancy try accessorizing an existing outfit with a black lace shoe, ankle boot, evening bag or gloves, or check out sites such as tightsplease.com or mytights.com for some very pretty hosiery.

One of the most popular featured trends for autumn & winter 2010 is the Aviator jacket. Originally designed by an American Leslie Irvin to keep pilots warm in sub zero cockpit conditions, this bye-gone classic has been re worked by most fashion houses this seasons. I am a huge fan of old classics, and love…Continue Reading

Autumn and winter fashion for 2010

I think we have all noticed a slight chill in the morning air recently, which can only mean one thing; autumn is on its way. Working as a stylist I find this time of year exciting. The flimsy and floaty summer creations are making way for the autumn and winter collections, and for me, autumn…Continue Reading
